Refund, Return & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how refunds, returns, cancellations, and early termination are handled for engagements with The Framework Group. It should be read together with our Terms of Service and our Payment & Ownership Terms, and forms part of your agreement with us.

Last updated: October 21, 2026

1. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to all services, engagements, retainers, subscriptions, and deliverables provided by The Framework Group ("we," "us," "our," or "the Company"), including business and technology consulting, software engineering, web and mobile development, brand consulting, animation and motion work, network and security implementation, managed support, and project management. By engaging us, you ("you," "client," or "customer") accept this policy.

Where a signed proposal, statement of work, or master services agreement contains terms that differ from this policy, the signed document controls for that engagement. Unless expressly stated otherwise, all amounts are stated and payable in United States dollars.

2. No refunds policy

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, or expressly agreed in writing by an authorized representative of the Company, all payments made to The Framework Group are non-refundable and non-creditable. This applies to, without limitation:

  • •Deposits and retainers: engagement deposits, booking deposits, and monthly or annual retainer amounts
  • •Milestone payments: progress, phase, and milestone payments already invoiced or paid
  • •Upfront project payments: amounts paid in full at the start of projects billed in advance, including web and mobile build projects not divided into milestones
  • •Payment plan installments: installments already invoiced or paid under a payment plan
  • •Subscription and managed service fees: recurring support, monitoring, hosting management, and subscription fees for the period in which you cancel
  • •Rush and priority fees: expedited, expedited-scheduling, and after-hours fees
  • •Third-party pass-through costs: domains, hosting, software licenses, platform subscriptions, stock assets, plugins, and advertising spend purchased or committed on your behalf
  • •Work already performed: professional time already incurred and work already performed, whether or not the resulting deliverable has been reviewed, accepted, or deployed

Our services involve dedicated professional time, reserved staffing capacity, and work performed to your specification. Payments compensate work and resources committed on your behalf; they are not held as a deposit against future performance and are not held in escrow.

3. Returns

Our engagements typically result in digital deliverables, including software and application code, website builds, designs, brand assets, animations, documentation, system configurations, and advisory work product. Digital deliverables are not physical goods: they cannot be returned, shipped back, un-downloaded, or restored to their original state. Accordingly, no returns are accepted and no refunds are issued on the basis of a return. Where a deliverable is defective or materially inconsistent with the agreed scope, our obligation is to correct the deliverable, not to refund it.

Refunds are not issued on the basis of a change of mind, a change in business direction or priorities, a change in ownership or management, internal budget reductions, failure to use or deploy the delivered work, a decision to discontinue a product or service line, or a change in the market, technology, or platform you chose to build upon.

4. Correction of errors

If a deliverable does not conform in a material way to the scope expressly described in your signed proposal or statement of work, notify us in writing within thirty (30) days of delivery. We will, at our option and at no additional charge, repair or re-perform the non-conforming work. This correction remedy is your sole remedy for non-conforming work, and it is provided in place of, and not in addition to, any refund. Work that falls outside the agreed scope — including new features, revisions beyond the included revision rounds, and changes requested after sign-off — is handled as a change order and billed separately, and is not a defect.

5. Statutory rights and exceptions

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or waives any right or remedy you may have that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or waived under the laws that apply to you. If you are a consumer located in a jurisdiction that grants a statutory cancellation, "cooling-off," or refund right, that right applies to the extent required by law and we will honor it. Where such a right requires a fee for work already performed, we may retain the value of the work performed and any non-cancelable third-party costs committed.

In addition, if we cancel an engagement for our own convenience before any work has begun, we will refund amounts paid for work that has not started. Any refund granted beyond these circumstances is made at the Company's sole discretion and does not create an obligation to grant a refund in any other instance.

6. Cancellation by the client — 30 days' written notice

You may cancel, terminate, or non-renew an engagement at any time by giving us at least thirty (30) days' prior written notice. Notice must be delivered in writing to info@widgetfl.com and is effective on the date we receive it, not on the date it is sent. Cancellation by phone, chat, or verbal instruction is not effective.

Work continues, and fees continue to accrue, throughout the thirty (30) day notice period. The notice period may not be shortened, and a request to stop work immediately does not reduce amounts otherwise due under this policy.

7. Amounts due on cancellation

When you cancel, the following amounts become due and payable immediately:

  • •Work performed: all fees for work performed and professional time incurred through the end of the notice period
  • •Committed costs: all non-cancelable third-party costs and subcontracted resources committed on your behalf
  • •Remaining balance: where the project is complete, substantially complete, or in its final stage of delivery as of the effective date of cancellation, the entire remaining balance of the project becomes due in full
  • •Payment plan acceleration: if you are on a payment plan, cancellation does not cancel the plan. All remaining scheduled installments accelerate and become due immediately

Where a project is partially complete, we will calculate the amount due on a percentage-of-completion basis or a time-and-materials basis, whichever is greater, and invoice that amount. Amounts due on cancellation are payable within fourteen (14) days of invoice.

8. Termination fees

All clients will have termination fees based on their specific scope of work. Termination fees reflect the reserved staffing capacity, scheduling commitments, subcontractor commitments, revenue that was displaced, and opportunity cost associated with reserving our team for your engagement.

The applicable termination fee is stated in your proposal or statement of work. Where your proposal or statement of work does not state a specific amount, the termination fee is calculated based on your scope of work and the remaining committed value of the engagement, and we will confirm the exact amount in writing within five (5) business days of receiving your notice. Termination fees are separate from, and are charged in addition to, fees for work performed and amounts accelerated under Section 7, and are non-refundable.

9. Suspension or termination by us

We may suspend or terminate an engagement immediately, without refund, if you fail to pay undisputed amounts when due; materially breach the agreement (including by failing to provide required access, approvals, resources, or inputs) and do not cure the breach within ten (10) business days of written notice; become insolvent or subject to bankruptcy or similar proceedings; or request work that would be unlawful, deceptive, or contrary to professional ethics. In any such case, amounts already paid are non-refundable, any remaining balance becomes due immediately, and termination fees under Section 8 remain payable.

10. Chargebacks and disputed charges

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first so we can resolve it directly. If a charge is disputed in error, contact us within thirty (30) days of the charge date. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute for work performed does not release you from the amounts due under your agreement. We may suspend all work while a dispute is open, and we may recover the disputed amount together with any associated fees, costs, and collection expenses.

11. Refund requests, overpayments, and how refunds are paid

All refund requests, cancellation notices, and related questions must be made in writing to info@widgetfl.com or by mail to The Framework Group at the address provided in your engagement documents. Please include your engagement or invoice number, the amount and date in question, and the reason for your request. We acknowledge requests within two (2) business days and respond substantively within five (5) business days. Submitting a request does not itself entitle you to a refund or reduce amounts otherwise due.

Overpayments. Any amount paid in excess of the amount properly due is not refunded in cash. It is credited to your client account and applied to future work, additional phases, change orders, or modifications to your engagement. This applies only to amounts paid beyond what is due; it does not convert any non-refundable fee described in Section 2 into a credit or a refund.

Refunds are returned to the original method of payment. Where a refund is approved, it is processed only to the original method of payment used for the original charge, with no exceptions. Refunds are not issued to a different card or bank account, to a different person or company, by cash, by check, or as an account credit in place of a refund that is owed. See our Payment & Ownership Terms for the full overpayment and refund-application terms.
